CMC OpenAI Officially Launched

At the launch event, Minister Nguyen Manh Hung stated that CMC OpenAI represents a model suited for the era of knowledge-based development.In developed nations, 80% of assets are intellectual property, while in underdeveloped countries, 80% are tangible assets. As Vietnam transitions to intellectual property-based development, the Ministry of Science and Technology encourages the establishment of new science and technology companies based on a model combining capital, knowledge, tangible assets, and intellectual property.

The minister emphasized that CMC’s decision to develop artificial intelligence (AI) in an open-source direction is strategic. He believes that the future of AI will be driven not only by large technology companies but also by open-source communities and companies within individual countries. No single company, irrespective of size, can solve all problems or meet all organizational demands. Technology development fosters creativity for everyone, lowers costs, and helps address the socioeconomic challenges of each nation.

The minister added that details technology and digital technology have permeated all aspects of life, and technology should now be inexpensive and accessible. This requires not only open-source code but also open architecture,open standards,and an open culture,where everyone contributes to technology development.
