Over 1,100 Clinics Open During Chinese New Year in Singapore
Singapore residents have access to medical care during the Chinese New Year public holidays, with 1,115 general practitioner (GP) clinics remaining open at various times from February 16 to February 18, 2026, according to the Ministry of Health (MOH).
Accessing Medical Care During the Holidays
The MOH encourages members of the public, including children, who feel unwell during the festive period to visit a GP or a 24-hour clinic for minor conditions. To find a clinic and its opening hours, residents can apply the MOH’s GPGoWhere website: go.gov.sg/gpgowhere.
According to the GPGoWhere website, 22 clinics will be open 24 hours a day throughout the festive period. The MOH advises the public to make an appointment or call the clinic before visiting.
Urgent and Emergency Care
For those seeking advice on the appropriate medical care site, the NurseFirst helpline is available daily from 8am to 11pm.
The MOH advises the public to seek medical treatment at a hospital’s accident and emergency departments only for serious or life-threatening emergencies, such as chest pain, breathlessness and uncontrollable bleeding. To ensure swift conveyance for emergency conditions, individuals experiencing non-life-threatening emergencies should refrain from calling 995.
Urgent Care Centres
For urgent conditions that are not life-threatening, such as minor cuts or wounds, persistent vomiting, and suspected sprains, the following Urgent Care Centres (UCC) are available:
- Alexandra Hospital UCC: Open 24 hours
- UCC @ Admiralty: Open from 8am to 11pm
- NUH Children’s UCC @ Bukit Panjang: Open from 9am to 11pm
