Colin Braun to Pilot Kaulig Racing’s No. 25 Truck at St. Petersburg
Colin Braun, a veteran in IMSA competition, will drive the No. 25 Kaulig Racing RAM 1500 in the inaugural NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at the St. Petersburg street circuit on February 28, 2026. This marks Braun’s return to NASCAR after a hiatus of over 14 years.
Braun’s NASCAR Background
Braun previously competed full-time in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in 2008 and 2009, securing one victory at Michigan International Speedway in 2009 while driving for Roush Fenway Racing. He finished fifth in the series points that season. He also has 31 starts in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series (now Xfinity Series) with two pole positions and a runner-up finish.
Transition to Sports Car Racing
After his time in NASCAR, Braun transitioned to sports car racing, finding significant success in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. He has amassed over 20 victories and three championships (2014, 2015, 2022) in the series. His accomplishments include a LMP2 class win at the 2023 24 Hours of Le Mans and an overall victory at the 2023 Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona. He has also won at other endurance classics like the Six Hours at The Glen, Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta, and the Sebring 12 Hours.
Kaulig Racing’s “Free Agent” Program
Braun is the third driver to participate in Kaulig Racing’s “Free Agent” program for the No. 25 truck in 2026. Three-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Tony Stewart drove the truck at the Daytona International Speedway, and Ty Dillon is competing at EchoPark Speedway in Atlanta. The program features a rotating lineup of drivers for each of the 25 events on the 2026 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series campaign.
Recent St. Petersburg Experience
Braun has recent experience at the St. Petersburg circuit, having made his NTT IndyCar Series debut there in 2024, finishing 20th in the No. 51 Dale Coyne Racing entry.
“I’m excited to get back behind the wheel of a NASCAR truck, especially on such a cool weekend when they debut in St. Pete,” said Braun. “RAM’s program offers a fantastic opportunity to mix my endurance background with oval and street course racing. I’m thrilled RAM is giving me this chance. I have seen how much function the Kaulig crew is putting into getting this program started up, and giving them a great result would repay them for the hard work!”
