Cycling is much more than just transportation – it is passion, experience, encounter and sometimes even a little adventure. That’s exactly what a versatile one is all about Event serieswhich in the coming months will invite all cycling enthusiasts and curious people to MiT, the citizens’ meeting place of the city of Wendlingen am Neckar. Whether it’s a cozy exchange, literary discoveries or inspiring lectures: everything that makes cycling so special comes together here.

Once a month offers that Radel story café Space for personal stories, practical tips and good conversations. People who enjoy cycling meet in a relaxed atmosphere – from a relaxed Sunday ride to a sporty tour. Accompanied by Karin Sigler-Simon from the “gesundradeln” initiative, which launched this series of events, experiences are shared, new ideas are collected and contacts are made. Each meeting has its own theme: from cycling in winter to special moments on the road, dealing with wind and weather to favorite places in the area. The free storytelling café takes place on Wednesdays from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on February 18th, March 18th, April 15th and May 20th in the MiT Café. Without prior registration.

It becomes literary “Bicycle worlds – told and read out loud” on Tuesday, February 24th, at 3 p.m. in the Recital Hall. Lisa Schönamsgruber reads exciting, humorous and touching texts about bicycles – from adventurous trips to everyday experiences on two wheels.

Anyone who is planning larger tours or dreams of cycling trips will benefit from this “Cycling tours from your doorstep” valuable suggestions on Tuesday, March 17th at 3 p.m. In short lectures, different options are presented to get started right on your own doorstep. The program is supplemented by a small exhibition with cycling maps, tour suggestions and tips on accommodation.

A special highlight is the Photo presentation “Four Alpine countries cycle tour – from the Engadine to Slovenia” on Thursday, March 19, at 7 p.m. Thomas Gotthardt (ADFC Göppingen) reports on an extraordinary cycling trip across the Alpine region – from west to east, on well-known long-distance cycle paths such as the Inn, Etsch, Eisacktal, Pustertal and Drau cycle paths. The 730 kilometer long route offers impressive landscapes and a fascinating cross-section through four Alpine countries. Entry is free.

The events take place in the city center meeting point in the MiT Café (narrative café) or in the Small Hall (lectures). Everyone is invited to experience cycling from very different perspectives – telling, listening, planning and dreaming. No matter whether you’re a frequent cyclist or an occasional rider: it’s worth stopping by.
