The Dandadan anime series, produced by Science Saru, will return for its third season in 2027, according to an official announcement. To build momentum ahead of the new season, the franchise has launched an international promotional campaign, headlined by a high-profile collaboration with the Williams Racing Formula 1 team.
Dandadan’s Formula 1 Marketing Strategy
The Dandadan production team, working in partnership with Mainichi Broadcasting System (MBS), has utilized unconventional marketing to maintain audience interest during the extended break between seasons. At a recent exhibition, the franchise unveiled an official show car featuring a custom blue and black livery, branded with the Williams Racing aesthetic. This collaboration serves as the anchor for a broader global marketing push, with MBS confirming plans to host over 30 promotional exhibitions worldwide leading up to the 2027 premiere.

The exhibition, organized by the Society for the Promotion of Japanese collaboration (SPJA), also displayed promotional artwork and character-focused installations. These included displays of protagonists Momo Ayase and Ken "Okarun" Takakura, alongside a large-scale representation of the character Turbo Granny, depicted in her lucky cat form.
Production Timeline and Studio Slate
The wait for Dandadan Season 3 is tied to the studio’s current production schedule, which has required the reallocation of resources across multiple projects. Science Saru has maintained a busy broadcast slate throughout 2026, including the release of a Ghost in the Shell reboot and the historical drama Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia, both of which premiered in July 2026.
The anime is an adaptation of Yukinobu Tatsu’s manga, which began serialization on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ platform on April 6, 2021. Since the television adaptation’s debut on October 4, 2024, the series has seen significant international growth. Data indicates that by the end of 2025, the second season of Dandadan became one of the most-watched anime series on Netflix, recording over 17.2 million views during a six-month window.
