Woody’s Roundup Village: A Nostalgic Corner of Disneyland Paris
Woody’s Roundup Village, formerly a beloved meet-and-greet area in Frontierland at Disneyland Paris, offered guests a chance to interact with characters from the Toy Story franchise. While the original attraction is no longer operating, its legacy remains as a fondly remembered part of the park’s history.
From Critter Corral to Toy Story Fun
The location originally opened in 1992 as Critter Corral, a farm where visitors could encounter various farm animals. It was part of the larger Cottonwood Creek Ranch, situated near the Thunder Mesa mining town [1]. The Woodcarver’s Workshop, a wooden house at the entrance, initially hosted craftspeople creating wood-carved portraits, but later served as a snack-delivering service.
The Roundup Years (2007-2011)
In 2007, coinciding with the park’s 15th anniversary, Critter Corral was reimagined as Woody’s Roundup Village, themed around Disney-Pixar’s Toy Story 2 [1]. The animals were relocated, and the area was transformed to resemble the world of Woody and his Roundup gang. Guests could meet characters like Sheriff Woody, Jessie, and Stinky Pete. The area was also decorated seasonally to reflect various holidays [1].
A Temporary Home for Mickey and Beyond
Woody’s Roundup Village ceased operations in 2011. It briefly became the temporary location for “Meet Mickey Mouse” before falling into disuse [3]. The space has remained unused since 2013 [3].
Location and Coordinates
Woody’s Roundup Village was located in Frontierland at Disneyland Paris, with coordinates 48°52′14″N 2°46′20″E [3].
While Woody’s Roundup Village is no longer available to visit, it remains a cherished memory for many Disneyland Paris guests, representing a unique blend of Toy Story charm and Frontierland atmosphere.
