Job Summary

The Employment Navigator is a dedicated, frontline Francophone resource central to the Navigating to Employment project. This role actively connects Francophone job seekers in minority settings to relevant and effective employment, training, and community supports. The position ensures all interactions and resources reflect the linguistic and cultural reality of Ontario’s Francophone communities.

The employment Navigator functions as a connector and facilitator, ensuring francophone clients are aware of, welcomed into, and successfully engaged with appropriate employment and training pathways.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide personalized, culturally relevant navigation services, including needs identification, orientation to available services, and individualized guidance to support clients in achieving their employment goals.
  • Provide an active offer of service in French at every point of client contact, ensuring services are proactively offered in French and not only upon request.
  • Proactively identify and engage Francophone job seekers in minority settings.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with community partners, employers, and service providers.
  • Assist clients with job searching, resume and cover letter writing, and interview preparation.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of program initiatives.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

  • Fluency in both French and English (written and spoken) is essential.
  • Post-secondary education in a related field (e.g., Social Services, Human Resources, Career Counselling) or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations, particularly Francophone communities.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Asset Qualifications

  • Knowledge of local labor market trends and employment resources.
  • Experience with case management systems.
  • valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
