Formula 1 Races Now Streaming on Apple TV+ in the U.S.
Formula 1 racing has a new home in the United States: Apple TV+. The technology giant officially launched a dedicated Formula 1 channel on its streaming platform, marking the beginning of an exclusive five-year broadcast deal that began with the 2026 season, following the conclusion of ESPN’s coverage at the conclude of 2025.
How to Watch F1 on Apple TV+
Apple TV+ subscribers gain access to comprehensive Formula 1 coverage, including every practice session, qualifying round, sprint race, and Grand Prix. As of February 18, 2026, an Apple TV+ subscription costs $12.99 per month or $99 annually [Apple TV+].
Viewers without an Apple TV+ subscription can still access ‘select races’ and all practice sessions.
Accessing the F1 Channel
The new Formula 1 channel is readily accessible through several points within the Apple TV+ interface: it appears in the sidebar on TVs, as a quick link in the header on the website, and as a shortcut via the search tab on iPhones. The channel provides access to both past and upcoming races, alongside additional F1 content.
Currently, the channel features programs for practice sessions, qualifying, and the Australian Grand Prix, as well as a Weekend Warm-up show. Highlights from the 2025 races are similarly available for fans to view.
The Length of the Apple TV+ and Formula 1 Partnership
Apple secured the exclusive U.S. Broadcast rights for Formula 1 in October 2025, committing to a five-year deal starting in 2026 [ESPN].
Stefano Domenicali, President and CEO of Formula 1, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “This is an incredibly exciting partnership for both Formula 1 and Apple that will ensure we can continue to maximise our growth potential in the U.S. With the right content and innovative distribution channels.” He also highlighted the existing collaborative relationship, noting their three-year partnership in creating the successful film, “F1 The Movie.” [ESPN]
Domenicali added, “We have a shared vision to bring this amazing sport to our fans in the U.S. And entice new fans through live broadcasts, engaging content, and a year-round approach to keep them hooked.” [ESPN]
Eddy Cue, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Services, also commented, “We’re thrilled to expand our relationship with Formula 1 and offer Apple TV subscribers in the U.S. Front row access to one of the most exciting and fastest-growing sports on the planet.” [ESPN]
The Transition from ESPN
Apple’s acquisition of the broadcast rights marks the end of ESPN’s seven-year run covering Formula 1, which concluded at the end of 2025 [Yahoo Sports]. ESPN initially acquired the rights in 2018 for free, recognizing the potential of the sport following Liberty Media’s acquisition of F1. While the deal evolved to be worth approximately $90 million per year, both ESPN and Formula 1 benefited from the partnership, with U.S. Viewership doubling from 2018 figures to an average of 1.3 million viewers per race [Yahoo Sports].
