Faceform Releases Powerful Updates for its Topology Transfer Software

Faceform, a pioneer in topology transfer software, has announced the release of major updates to both Wrap 2024.11 and Wrap4D 2024.11. These updates bring significant improvements to workflow efficiency, new tools, and enhanced user experience for artists working with 3D scan data.

Wrap 2024.11: Streamlined Workflow and Powerful New Features

Wrap 2024.11 is the first major update in a year, featuring numerous quality-of-life improvements for its node graph-based algorithm. Key highlights include:

  • Node Graph Enhancements: Simplified organization with node grouping, enhanced searchability, and temporary node disabling for faster workflow.
  • New SwitchGeom Node: Enables seamless previewing of experimental changes by switching between input geometries.
  • Advanced Cleaning & Retargeting Nodes: New nodes for smoothing geometry, blending transforms, and mirroring topology.
  • Improved Brush Toolset: Added reference image overlay for guided edits and five new brush types including Move Surface, Relax Surface, Mirror Clone, Clone Project, and Erase.
  • Enhanced Vertex Mask Workflow:
New Draw and Fill modes for better control over brushstroke overlap,
nodes for displaying geometry differences as vertex masks,
transferring masks across different topologies, and exporting masks as images.

Wrap 2024.11 also introduces efficient file export options, including Alembic sequences for pipeline integration and FBX-formatted camera exports for seamless compatibility with other DCC applications.

Wrap4D 2024.11: A New Era for Blend Rig Creation

Wrap4D 2024.11 builds upon the core functionalities of Wrap 2024.11 and introduces a revolutionary blend rig pipeline. This new set of nodes simplifies the creation, editing, and exporting of blendshape-based facial rigs, allowing for smoother and more controlled facial animation.

“Solving a 4D sequence within a blendshape rig makes it easier to carry out common tasks like modifying gaze direction, or enhancing expressions,” states Faceform.

Pricing and Availability

Wrap 2024.11 and Wrap4D 2024.11 are available for Windows and Linux users.

Pricing options include:

  • Wrap 2024.11 (Indie): $570 (node-locked license) for users with revenue under $100,000/year
  • Wrap 2024.11 (Professional): $1,070 (node-locked license) and $1,470 (floating license) for higher revenue users
  • Wrap4D 2024.11: Priced upon request

Students and educational institutions can access Wrap 2024.11 free of charge.
