Factor Protein Plus: A Comfort Food Approach to Meal Delivery
The Protein Plus options are broad, comprising about half of Factor’s menu overall. The meals remain mostly straightforwardly American: garlic herb chicken, barbecue wings, and a red pepper frittata for breakfast. Jamaican jerk salmon and a Thai yellow curry chicken were among the more adventurous options I tried, but even these feel familiar and approachable. (I especially enjoyed the jerk salmon.)
Most dishes are classic, complete meals: a meat, a starch, and a vegetable, often green. It’s almost wholesome, like Midwestern home cooking.Factor-founded and based in Illinois-even displays a Midwestern spirit of resourceful creativity. Their “unstuffed pepper” delivers the flavors of a traditionally stuffed bell pepper-rice, meat, and tomato sauce-in a saucy meatball form with bits of bell pepper mixed in. It looked a little messy, and it tasted like pure comfort. If you dislike a peppery meatball stew, we might have different tastes.
