FC Cincinnati Secures Dramatic Late Victory Over CF Montréal
CINCINNATI — FC Cincinnati overcame a challenging match to defeat CF Montréal 4-3 on Sunday at TQL Stadium, snapping a three-game Major League Soccer losing streak. The victory was sealed by a late goal from Kévin Denkey in stoppage time, sending the home crowd into a frenzy.

Montréal took an early lead in the 6th minute with a goal from Wikelman Carmona, scoring past FCC backup goalkeeper Evan Louro, who was starting in place of Roman Celentano while Celentano trains with the U.S. Men’s national team. Cincinnati responded with a goal from Ender Echenique in the 40th minute, but Montréal quickly regained the lead through Prince Owusu before halftime.
The second half saw Ayoub Jabbari equalize for Cincinnati shortly after the restart. Although, the match took a turn in the 60th minute when FC Cincinnati defender Miles Robinson received a red card, forcing the team to play with 10 men. Shortly after, a penalty was awarded to Montréal, which Owusu converted, putting Montréal ahead 3-2.
Despite being a man down, Cincinnati rallied. Tom Barlow scored his first regular-season goal for the club in the 80th minute to tie the game once again. Then, in the 90th+4 minute, Kévin Denkey scored the winning goal, completing the comeback for FC Cincinnati.

This win was crucial for Cincinnati, who hadn’t secured a regular-season victory in over a month, since their home opener on February 21st. The team was recently eliminated from the Concacaf Champions Cup after losing to Tigres UANL despite a 3-0 first-leg advantage.
