Finn Wolfhard has spoken about Stranger Things coming to an end, and saeid that he hopes there will be another season later down the line.

The fifth and final season of Stranger Things is coming to Netflix in three parts this year. In a new interview with Variety the cast spoke about how it felt to read through the last script together.

Millie Bobby Brown, David Harbour, Gaten Matarazzo, Finn Wolfhard and more opened up about bringing the series to a close nearly 10 years after the first episode aired, when Wolfhard said that he hopes that there will be more to come.

“I don’t think I’ll ever truly feel like it’s the end,” he shared. “The show will live on in so many ways that I hope it still feels relevant to people years down the line. As far as the actual end of the story goes, I don’t know.”

“I mean, there’s a reason why we ended it, and it’s done. But who’s to say that the Duffer [Brothers, creators] in 10 years, when they get another idea, they do it? It’s up to them,” he added. “I think it’s good that it’s the end, but part of me hopes it’s not.”

Wolfhard, who plays Mike Wheeler in the show, also shared that he and his co-stars Charlie Heaton (Jonathan Byers) and noah Schnapp (Will Byers) were the first to get emotional as they read the final script.

“It’s going to be interesting if that ever comes out, as it’ll be pretty embarrassing. The whole thing is just crying,” he added. “I was like, ‘I’m not going to cry. I’m going to feel very normal, and it’s going to be great.’ And then halfway through, I just started totally bawling my eyes out.”

explaining why he thinks the show has resonated with so many fans since it first aired in 2016, Wolfhard said that he has noticed how a lot of viewers have “grown with the show likewise that I got to.
