Former Employee Allegedly Starts Fire at San Antonio Chachos Restaurant
San Antonio, TX – August 10, 2025 – The San Antonio Fire department (SAFD) responded to a fire at the Chachos restaurant located at 8600 Perrin Beitel Road early sunday morning. The incident,initially reported as a bomb threat,is now being investigated as a case of arson.
According to SAFD reports, employees received a phone call instructing them to evacuate the building. Upon arrival, firefighters discovered a small fire contained within the restaurant. Preliminary investigations suggest the fire was caused by an incendiary device allegedly placed by a former disgruntled employee.
Witnesses reported seeing an individual fleeing the scene on foot instantly following the incident. Law enforcement officials are currently working to identify and apprehend the suspect.
“The safety of our community and first responders is our top priority,” stated a spokesperson for the SAFD. “We are working closely with the San Antonio Police Department to thoroughly investigate this matter and bring the responsible party to justice.”
As of Sunday evening, no arrests have been made. The extent of the damage to the Chachos restaurant is currently being assessed,and the establishment remains closed. Further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
