Flash Floods and Landslides Devastates West Java, Indonesia

Tragedy has struck West Java, Indonesia, as flash floods and landslides have wreaked havoc across the region. As of Friday, five bodies have been recovered, and seven individuals remain missing.

The natural disasters, which commenced on Tuesday, have left a trail of destruction in Sukabumi regency. According to Hadi Rahmat, spokesperson for the provincial disaster management and mitigation agency, 589 houses have been damaged, displacing 1,400 residents.

The disaster has also significantly impacted transportation, with 10 bridges collapsing, disrupting residents’ movement and connectivity.

Officials continue to search for the missing and provide aid to those affected by the catastrophic event.
