Osteopathic Treatment Study for Type 2 Diabetes: Free Participation in Kiel
A new pilot study launching this March is investigating the potential benefits of osteopathic treatment on fasting blood sugar levels in individuals with type 2 diabetes. The study, conducted at Praxis MSP in Kiel, Germany, is seeking participants aged 18 to 75 who are currently on stable medication for type 2 diabetes and are fluent in German.
The research aims to contribute to the growing body of knowlege surrounding diabetes management and the role of osteopathy as a complementary therapy.Participants will undergo a series of assessments, including blood glucose measurements and completion of questionnaires, and will receive either osteopathic treatment or a sham treatment, randomly assigned.
Study Details:
* Duration: Participation requires approximately 60 minutes of direct contact time.
* Appointments: Two in-person appointments,each lasting 30 minutes,will be scheduled between 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM at an accessible practice in Kiel.A third questionnaire will be completed and returned at home.
* assessments: The study will utilize questionnaires (WHO-5) and blood glucose measurements to track progress.
* Cost: Participation is entirely free of charge.

Eligibility criteria:
* Age between 18 and 75
* Diagnosis of type 2 diabetes
* Currently on stable diabetes medication
* Proficiency in German (spoken and understood)
Exclusion Criteria:
* Pregnancy
* Cancer
* Type 1 diabetes
* Serious systemic illnesses
* ongoing chemotherapy
* Drug addiction
* Wheelchair dependence
