Paul Gallagher Takes the Reins as New Irish Hotels Federation CEO
The Irish Hotels Federation (IHF) has announced the appointment of Paul Gallagher, a seasoned hospitality leader with over four decades of experience, as its new chief executive. Gallagher brings a wealth of knowledge and a proven track record of success to this crucial role, tasked with leading the national representative body for over 900 hotels and guesthouses in Ireland.
Gallagher’s Extensive Background in Tourism and Hospitality
Prior to joining the IHF, Gallagher served as the General Manager of Buswells Hotel in Dublin for an impressive 27 years. He has also held the prestigious position of chair of the Irish Tourism Industry Confederation (ITIC), demonstrating his deep understanding and commitment to the sector. Gallagher’s career has been dedicated to driving growth and positive change within the tourism and hospitality industry.
A Focus on Growth and Development for Irish Tourism
In his new role, Gallagher will spearhead the IHF’s strategic direction, working closely with industry partners, government bodies, and state agencies to champion the interests of the hotel sector. The goal is to create a supportive environment that fosters the continued expansion and development of Irish tourism and hospitality. This is particularly important considering the industry currently supports over 270,000 livelihoods across Ireland, with 66,000 people directly employed within the hotel and guesthouse sector.
