Garmin Rolls Out Software Updates for Fenix and Tactix 8 Series, Addresses Beta Issues
Garmin has been actively releasing software updates for its Fenix and Tactix 8 series smartwatches. Following the release of version 21.25 for the Fenix 7E, Fenix 8, and Fenix 8 Pro, the company has now launched version 21.27 for the Tactix 8. These updates initially aimed to conclude the v21.xx beta period, but Garmin has since returned to beta testing with version 21.28, currently limited to Fenix 8 Pro users.
Beta Program and Update Rollout
The latest beta update, v21.28, is available to 100% of participants in the beta program for the Fenix 8 Pro, including microLED variants. Garmin anticipates a swift port of this version to the stable software program. The primary fix included in v21.28 addresses an issue where the LTE search and standby banner appeared too frequently.
Restored Sleep Focus Feature
Garmin has quietly reintroduced the manual sleep focus option for the Fenix 8 series and compatible devices. Users can now set Sleep Focus as a shortcut for manual activation. This feature is available in System Software versions 21.25, 21.27, and the new Beta version 21.28.
