GCE O-Level Results 2025: What Students Need to Know

Singaporean students will receive their Singapore-Cambridge GCE Ordinary Level (GCE O-Level) examination results on january 14, 2025. This guide provides a comprehensive overview of how students can access their results and what options are available for their next educational steps.

Results Release and Collection

The Ministry of Education (MOE) and the Singapore Examinations and Assessment Board (SEAB) jointly announced that results will be released on January 14,2025,at 2:00 PM.

  • School Candidates: Students who took the exams through their schools can collect their results from their respective secondary schools on the release date. Schools will share specific collection details.
  • Proxy Collection: Students unable to collect their results in person can appoint a proxy. Proxies must present relevant identification for verification.
  • Private Candidates: Those eligible for Singpass can access their results online via the SEAB Candidates Portal (SEAB) from 2:45 PM on January 14th untill 11:00 PM on January 28th. Candidates without Singpass can use the account created during examination registration.

Applying for Post-Secondary Education

GCE O-Level results are crucial for applying to various post-secondary institutions in Singapore. The Joint Admissions Exercise (JAE) facilitates this process.

  • JAE Eligibility: Students can apply to Junior Colleges (jcs),Millennia Institute (MI),polytechnics,and the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) through the JAE.
  • Form A: eligible candidates will receive a digital copy of Form A via email from 2:45 PM on January 14th. this form details their gross aggregate scores and eligible course options.Form A is also available for download through the JAE-internet System.
  • JAE Application Period: The JAE-Internet System will be accessible from 4:00 PM on January 14th to 4:30 PM on January 19th. Applicants must use Singpass to submit their course choices.

Key Dates and Application Results

  • JAE Posting Results: Released on February 3rd via the JAE-Internet System and via SMS to the registered mobile number.
  • Reporting to JCs/MI: Students posted to Junior Colleges and Millennia Institute must report to their assigned institution on February 4th.
  • ITE/Polytechnic Enrollment: ITE will send enrollment instructions on february 3rd, while polytechnics will send emails by the end of February.

Direct School Admission & Early admissions

Several pathways offer early admission to post-secondary institutions:

  • DSA-JC: Students accepted through the Direct School Admission – Junior College (DSA-JC) exercise will be admitted to their chosen JC if they meet the admission criteria.These students are not eligible for the JAE.
  • Polytechnic Early Admissions Exercise (PEAE): Students with a net ELR2B2 score of 26 points or lower who have accepted conditional offers through the PEAE are not eligible for the JAE.
  • ITE Early Admissions Exercise (EAE): Similarly, students who have accepted conditional offers through the ITE EAE have their offers confirmed upon meeting subject-specific entry requirements and are not eligible for the JAE.

Options for Normal (Academic) students

Secondary 4 Normal (Academic) students have specific pathways available to them:

  • Polytechnic Foundation Program (PFP): A one-year foundation programme offered at polytechnics, preparing students for diploma courses. Eligibility requires a raw ELMAB3 aggregate of 12 points or lower and meeting subject-specific requirements.Applications open from 1:30 PM on January 14th to 4:30 PM on January 19th.
  • Direct-Entry-Scheme to Polytechnic Programme (DPP): A two-year Higher Nitec course at ITE, leading to a polytechnic diploma. Eligibility requires a raw ELMAB3 aggregate of 19 points or lower and meeting subject-specific requirements.Applications open from 12:00 AM on January 14th to 11:59 PM on January 19th.
