## Isabel Jiménez talks about Sara Carbonero’s illness
Cancer. A word that I have run away from for years and that I did not like to refer to as I believed that if I did not name it it would not be a reality,” said Sara Carbonero (41 years old) a year ago while remembering the ovarian cancer that was detected in May 2019, news that changed her life completely and made her change the way she faced her daily life. now recovered, the journalist has gone through one of her worst years in 2024, trying to overcome all those bumps that the universe has put in her path, one in wich she always has the help and support of one of the most crucial women in her life, Isabel Jiménez (43 years old), presenter and a great friend of Sara’s who has now remembered what it was like to be by her side while she was going through this disease.
This week it was celebrated the ELLE x Hope 2025 solidarity gala, an important event in which different well-known faces have gathered at the palacio de Santoña in Madrid in support of the fight against cancer, since everything raised during that night will be donated to research into this disease, one that has touched Isabel closely when she had to see her great friend going through this vrey delicate situation. “In the hard times, like the chemo, I tried to always have an anecdote to remember. We would order food, play music or suddenly another day I would take a radio and record it…I would always try Find a way to associate it with a beautiful memory”, the ‘Informativos Telecinco’ presenter began by explaining, which was one of Sara’s most important pillars at that time.
During Sara Carbonero’s illness,her friend “always tried to find a way to associate it with a beautiful memory.”
Isabel explained that for her it is “essential” to clothe the patient in these moments. “Ther are always very hard moments, in which you feel very weak and in which you need those supports and those supports”, she said, having wanted to be that support for Carbonero herself.
