Holly Hallstrom: Bob Barker Fired Me Over Dian Parkinson Affair, Not Weight

‘Price Is Right’ Model Holly Hallstrom Reveals ‘Hatred’ for Bob Barker

Holly Hallstrom, a former “Barker’s Beauty” on The Price Is Right, has publicly shared her contentious exit from the reveal and her deep animosity towards host Bob Barker. Hallstrom, who appeared on the iconic game show from 1977 to 1995, alleges she was dismissed not due to weight gain as publicly stated, but because of her refusal to support Barker in a legal matter.

The Dian Parkinson Lawsuit and Hallstrom’s Refusal to Testify

The tension stemmed from a 1994 lawsuit filed by Hallstrom’s former co-star, Dian Parkinson, against Barker for sexual harassment following an affair with the host. Hallstrom refused to provide a legal defense for Barker, stating in the E! docuseries Dirty Rotten Scandals, “I wanted nothing to do with it.” She explained her decision, fearing she would be forced to commit “felony perjury” if she testified.

Dismissal and Allegations of Retaliation

After Parkinson dropped her lawsuit, Hallstrom claims she found herself on Barker’s “s—t list.” She was subsequently fired, with the explanation being her weight. “I refused to testify in court, to commit felony perjury for him,” Hallstrom told People magazine. “That was the final straw, but it’s against the law to fire an employee for failing to testify on your behalf in a court of law, so they could not fire me for that.”

Hallstrom alleges Barker then used her weight as a pretext for her dismissal. “Barker said I was overweight and that’s why I was off the show,” she stated. She recounted feeling a surge of anger, thinking, “I hate that man.”

Legal Battles and Speaking Out

Hallstrom further revealed that Barker sued her for defamation after she spoke to the media, including the show Hard Copy, about her firing. While Barker eventually dropped the lawsuit, Hallstrom filed a countersuit for malicious prosecution, which was later settled. She waited until after Barker’s death in 2023 to speak publicly again about the ordeal.

Hallstrom described Barker as telling her she was a “fat liar and problematic and no one liked working with me,” which she refuted as a “bald-faced lie.” Because she hadn’t signed a non-disclosure agreement like Parkinson, she felt free to speak out about her experiences.

‘Dirty Rotten Scandals’ and a Darker Side of ‘The Price Is Right’

Hallstrom’s story is featured in the E! docuseries Dirty Rotten Scandals, which explores allegations of a hostile work environment, sexual harassment, and discrimination during Barker’s 35-year tenure as host of The Price Is Right. The docuseries premiered on March 18, 2026, and draws from original reporting by journalist David Kushner TV Insider.
