Nearly seven out of every 10 Spaniards, 69.39%, believe that the current price of mobile phones on the market is excessively expensive to be devalued so soon, according to a survey by IO Research.
But how much do we spend on cell phones? According to the same survey, half of Spaniards do not spend more than 500 euros. However, Up to 18% pay between 500 and 1,000 euros and 8% of citizens exceed the threshold of the Minimum Interprofessional Wage (set at 1,080 euros), when purchasing a mobile phone.
Where the most money is spent on a new smartphone is in Valencia, where up to 3% spend more than 1,300 euros. Although they are not far away in Cantabria and La Rioja, with 13% of those surveyed investing more than 1,000 euros in their terminal.
In terms of age and gender of buyers, those who have less trouble loosening their wallets to men between 25 and 34 years old show off an expensive mobile phone.
The data is more striking considering that In 2017 the Spaniards we paid 228 euros on average by our smartphones. A cost that has been increasing year after year.
