The west Virginia Secondary School Activities Commission (WVSSAC) has selected Huntington, West Virginia, and Marshall University to host the state high school baseball championships beginning in June 2026. This marks a change from the previous location at GoMart Ballpark in Charleston, which hosted the championships since 2004. The decision follows a statewide bid process and a vote by the WVSSAC board of directors.

A New Home for West Virginia Baseball

The championships will be held at Jack Cook Field on the Marshall University campus. Marshall University Athletics announced the selection, highlighting the facility’s modern amenities. Jack Cook Field is an all-turf facility that opened in 2024 and boasts a seating capacity of 3,500. The tournament is scheduled to take place from June 6-13, 2026, according to the WVSSAC.
