Mel Gibson Endorses Trump, Slams Harris’s “IQ” in Airport Interview
Mel Gibson, the Oscar-winning director known for films like *Braveheart* and *The Passion of the Christ*, has publicly declared his support for Donald Trump in the upcoming presidential election. In an interview captured by TMZ at an airport, Gibson made his stance clear, delivering a scathing critique of Democratic candidate Kamala Harris.
“I don’t think it’s going to surprise anyone who I vote for,” Gibson told the cameraman, before acknowledging the obvious: “I think that’s a pretty good guess,” he said, confirming his allegiance to the former president.
Gibson didn’t mince words when describing his view of Harris. “I know what it’ll be like if we let her in. And that ain’t good. Miserable track record. No policies to speak of. She’s got the IQ of a fence post,” he declared in a statement echoing a frequent attack line used by Trump himself.
While Gibson has been less vocal politically in recent years, he made a notable appearance at a UFC match in 2021, where he was seen saluting Trump. Trump himself has publicly expressed admiration for Gibson, sharing memes of the actor on his social media platform Truth Social earlier this year.
Gibson’s endorsement comes after a period of controversy stemming from past incidents involving anti-Semitic and racist remarks, as well as allegations of domestic abuse. He took a hiatus from Hollywood after a DUI arrest and the leaked audio tapes in 2006 and 2010. Since then, he has returned to acting and directing, earning critical acclaim for his 2016 war film *Hacksaw Ridge* which earned him an Oscar nomination.
