ILLIT’s “Magnetic” Achieves Record-Breaking Streaming Milestone in Japan

The debut song “Magnetic” by the K-pop group ILLIT has reached a significant milestone in Japan, achieving 300 million streams in just 101 weeks, according to Oricon, a leading Japanese music chart provider. This marks the shortest timeframe for a foreign female artist to reach this level of streaming success on the chart.

Released in March 2024, “Magnetic” from ILLIT’s first mini album, ‘SUPER REAL ME’, quickly gained global recognition. The song topped major music charts in South Korea and achieved 100 million streams on Oricon’s ‘Weekly Streaming Ranking’ by June 17, 2024 – the fastest rate for a female group’s single release on the platform.

ILLIT, composed of members Yoona, Minjoo, Mocha, Wonhee, and Iroha, also made history with “Magnetic” as the first and fastest K-pop debut song to enter both the US Billboard Hot 100 and the UK Official Singles Chart Top 100, demonstrating the group’s immediate impact on the international music scene.

The song’s sustained popularity is further evidenced by its performance on Spotify, where it surpassed 700 million cumulative plays as of November 2025, the fastest achievement among K-pop group debut songs. “Magnetic” continues to maintain a presence on the Melon daily chart in South Korea, a key indicator of public popularity, even two years after its release.

ILLIT is set to embark on their first tour, ‘ILLIT LIVE ‘PRESS START♥’ in SEOUL’, on March 14th and 15th at the Seoul Ticket Link Live Arena. The performances were sold out immediately upon the start of pre-sales, highlighting the group’s growing fanbase and ticket demand.
