Jeremy Renner, known for his role as Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, delivered an inspiring message about overcoming adversity at the Red Sea Film Festival in Saudi Arabia. Renner spoke candidly about his remarkable recovery from a near-fatal snow plow accident that occurred in January 2023, resulting in blunt chest trauma and 38 broken bones.

Addressing the topic of limitations posed by his injuries, Renner humorously remarked, “I don’t think of it as limitations – even though I’m 25% titanium, so fuck Iron Man.
Renner’s triumph over this serious accident inspires hope and serves as an example of resilience. “It’ll be two years in January, and I am very, very proud to overcome a great adversity in my life. I’m forever grateful for all the love and support I’ve gotten from people all around the world, even those I never knew existed, that helped propel me to get better, and it’s the only thing that really kind of defines me in my life at this point,” Renner shared during his talk.
A Memoir in the Making
Speaking further about the profound impact of his accident, Renner revealed, “I’m writing a book about it right now…While I’ve been here this whole trip, I’ve been doing the final edit on it, so it’s kind of fresh in my brain, because I tried to push it away a lot of times.
“It’s coming together—I’m writing chapter 16 today…there’s so many wonderful gifts that come from being tested to your limits of death. Because I did die, and I came back. And I came back for a reason. I’m truly grateful to be here

New Music and an Exciting Film
During his talk, Renner also unveiled details about his upcoming film projects. He was recently back filming season three of Taylor Sheridan’s Paramount+ series “Mayor of Kingstown” just months after returning home .
“Wake Up Dead Man,” the third installment in “Knives Out” , sees Renner rejoin the illustrious cast, starring alongside Andrew Scott, Kerry Washington, Glenn Close, Josh O’Connor, and Cailee Spaeny.
“It was a killer cast. A ton of fun. A really enjoyable set. Definitely worth watching this third ‘Knives Out’ ,” Renner told the festival audience.
