49ers Rookie Isaac Guerendo Expected to Play Despite Foot Injury

49ers running back Isaac Guerendo’s breakout performance last week took a concerning turn when he injured his foot late in the 38-13 victory over the Bears. Despite the setback, there’s good news for 49ers fans as Guerendo is expected to play against the Rams on Thursday night.

Guerendo, who earned the starting role last week and scored two touchdowns, missed Monday and Tuesday’s practices due to the injury. While initially listed as questionable, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Thursday morning that Guerendo “feels good” and plans to suit up at Levi’s Stadium.

However, it’s important to remember that Schefter’s previous report about Steelers wide receiver George Pickens playing last Sunday proved inaccurate. Pickens ultimately missed the game with a hamstring injury and is unlikely to play this weekend either. While Guerendo’s situation appears more positive, it’s wise to wait for the official inactive lists, released 90 minutes before kickoff, for confirmation.

The 49ers will need Guerendo’s contributions as they face the Rams in a crucial Thursday Night Football matchup. Stay tuned for updates on his status and the rest of the 49ers’ injury report.
