Fire at Teban Gardens HDB Block Evacuates 150 Residents, Electrical Fault Suspected

SINGAPORE – Approximately 150 residents were evacuated from Block 34 Teban Gardens Road in Jurong on February 17, 2026, following a fire that broke out in an 11th-floor unit. The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) responded to the incident, which was reported around 4:20 PM.

Details of the Incident

Upon arrival, SCDF firefighters discovered a fire raging in the living room of the unit. They forcibly entered the smoke-filled apartment and extinguished the blaze using a water jet. Fortunately, no one was inside the unit at the time of the fire, and no injuries were reported.

As a precautionary measure, police and SCDF personnel evacuated approximately 150 residents from the affected block. Preliminary investigations suggest the fire was likely caused by an electrical fault originating in the living room Strait Times.
