Kamoulox+ Revival: Kad Merad and Olivier Baroux Return to CANAL+ with Absurdist Comedy
CANAL+ has announced the filming of “Kamoulox+,” a recent series created by Kad Merad and Olivier Baroux. The project reimagines their cult 1990s game show parody as a fictional streaming platform filled with absurd content, promising a return to the duo’s signature brand of humor.
A Nostalgic Reboot
The original Kamoulox first gained popularity on Ouï FM radio in the 1990s before transitioning to television with appearances on “La Grosse Émission” on Comédie! between 1999 and 2001 . For many, the show’s nonsensical rules and iconic catchphrases, like “Je crapote à Montrouge et je promène un Bee Gees” and the responsive “Kamoulox!”, became a cultural touchstone .
What to Expect from Kamoulox+
“Kamoulox+” will not simply be a revival of the original show, but rather a parody of a streaming platform. Viewers can anticipate “documentaries that do not document, series in one episode and films in several, [and] sports competitions for which no one wants the rights…” . The series will feature sketches, parodies, and new iterations of the classic Kamoulox game .
Production Details
Filming is currently underway in the Paris region and is expected to last approximately two weeks . Arthur Sanigou is directing, having previously worked on the comedy Un stupéfiant Noël !. The production is being handled by Shine Fiction, a subsidiary of Banijay France, led by Dominique Farrugia .
A Continuing Collaboration
Kad Merad and Olivier Baroux, known as the duo “Kad et O,” have consistently collaborated throughout their careers, including their 2003 film “Mais qui a tué Pamela Rose?” and its 2012 sequel .
A release date for “Kamoulox+” has not yet been announced.
