“An incredible night” was the one spent by the American rock band Kiss in Cartagena as the headliner of the festival Rock Imperium but it was even more so, for his followers, to listen to Gene Simmons the “Eeeehhhhhhhh Cartagena!!!” covering Los del Río with their sonadísima and bailadísima Macarena.
Kiss chose Cartagena to give the band’s last and only concert in Spain, with more than 60,000 peopleto continue in Lyon (France) his European tour.
Simmons, after humming the well-known chorus of the song that swept the 90s, ended with a “I hate this song.”
Previously, the band, which celebrates half a century on stage this year, took a tour of the city aboard a minibus.
The Cartagena City Council has felt very honored by the band’s visit and has echoed the walk through the historic city on social networks, where it highlighted that the band “dared @rockimperiumfestival even with a version of the Macarena dand Those of the River”.
