Quinnipiac Field Hockey Welcomes Talented Incoming Class of 2025
Quinnipiac university’s field hockey program is poised for continued success with the addition of a dynamic and internationally diverse recruiting class for the 2025 season. This incoming group features a blend of experienced players and promising newcomers, representing both the United States and The Netherlands, and bringing a wealth of skill and competitive spirit to the Bobcats.
American Athletes Bolstering the Bobcats’ Ranks
The Quinnipiac roster will be significantly strengthened by four talented athletes from the United States. Leading the charge is Alexa Kidd, a sophomore transfer from Penn State. Kidd arrives with a proven track record of offensive prowess, having been recognized as the Suffolk County Offensive player of the Year in 2023 while playing for Ward Melville High School in New York. Her ability to generate scoring opportunities – she led all of Long Island, N.Y. in points that year – and her All-New York State honors demonstrate her immediate potential impact.
Joining Kidd as First Years are three additional American players. Jaelyn Crossman, from auburn, New Hampshire, brings a consistent record of excellence, earning All-State first Team recognition throughout her four years at Pinkerton Academy. Her accolades extend beyond the state level, including New England All-Region First Team and a place among the MAX Field hockey New England Top 40 in both 2023 and 2024. Crossman’s consistent performance and three-time Team MVP status highlight her leadership qualities and dedication.
Jenna Livathares, hailing from Upper Saddle River, New Jersey, adds a winning pedigree to the Bobcats. Her high school career at Northern Highlands Regional High School was marked by remarkable team success, boasting a 75-7-3 record and a runner-up finish in the New Jersey Group 3 State Finals. Individually, Livathares was a First team All North Jersey selection in 2024 and participated in the New Jersey All-Star Game.
Completing the American contingent is Veronica Goettner, from North Wales, pennsylvania. Goettner’s experience extends to national-level competition, having reached the 2023 National Championships with Mainline Mayhem, finishing third overall. Her All-Interac First Team selection as a senior underscores her skill and impact on the field. Currently, NCAA Division I field hockey sees an average of 2.5 goals scored per game, and these athletes are poised to contribute to Quinnipiac’s offensive output.
International Flair: Dutch Players Join the Bobcats
Quinnipiac’s 2025 class also benefits from the addition of three highly skilled players from The Netherlands, a nation renowned for it’s field hockey dominance. The Dutch program consistently ranks among the top international teams, currently holding the #1 position in the FIH World Rankings.
Rozemarijn Van Keulen, from Naarden, is a First Year player who honed her skills at Gooische Hockeyclub. Her experience in the Elite National U16 League, where she consistently finished in the top five, demonstrates her ability to compete at a high level.
Charlie Caunter, from Oldenzaal, further strengthens the dutch presence. A First Year student from Twents Carmel College Lyceum, Caunter’s championship experience – winning a Super-B League National Championship, the second-highest league in the country – speaks to her competitive drive and team success.
rounding out the international recruits is Maaike Van Wensen, from Apledoorn. Van Wensen’s remarkable resume includes representing The Netherlands Women’s First Team and earning MVP honors at the u16 Regional Tournament. Her leadership qualities are evident in her role as Captain of AMHC Apledoorn u18s, alongside her consistent presence on the AMHC First Team.
The Quinnipiac field hockey program is clearly building a strong foundation for future success with this diverse and talented incoming class. The combination of American determination and Dutch technical skill promises an exciting season ahead for Bobcat fans.
