4YFN: A Launchpad for Future Global Companies
MWC’s dedicated exhibition space, 4YFN (4 Years From Now), is designed to identify startups poised for global success. It serves as a platform to evaluate innovative business models and technological capabilities. The nine participating Korean companies – Designnoble, Medisapiens, Mona, Milliwave, Blue Gold, Soldak, Solum Advanced Materials, Featuring, and Hanteo Global – showcased Korean technological prowess across diverse fields, ranging from biotechnology and AI-driven diagnostics to ultra-high frequency wireless devices.
Medisapiens and Milliwave Lead the Charge
Medisapiens, specializing in a biotechnology-based AI diagnostic platform, attracted considerable global interest with its AI platform designed for the diagnosis of rare diseases in newborns. The company is currently in negotiations to secure approximately 4 million euros (approximately 5.7 billion won) in investment from major European venture capitals and is exploring joint projects with global pharmaceutical companies and Spanish hospitals.
Wireless equipment manufacturer Milliwave is also making strides, developing ultra-high frequency wireless devices and pursuing export discussions with system integrators in the Middle East. The company is simultaneously seeking investment and expansion into overseas markets through meetings with Spanish investment firms.
A Changing MWC Landscape and Korean Startup Strategies
MWC has evolved from a traditional mobile technology expo to a networking and collaboration hub for global startups, and investors. 4YFN now focuses on comprehensively evaluating business models, feasibility, and market suitability, creating advantageous opportunities for growth-stage Korean companies. South Korea’s established reputation for technological innovation and digital transformation fosters trust among global investors.

Biotechnology firms like Medisapiens are targeting the European market, as well as regions with high demand for medical technology, such as the United States and the Middle East. This growth is expected to generate new jobs and enhance Korea’s global technological competitiveness, serving as a positive signal for other Korean startups.
The success of these nine companies, supported by the Korea Technology Finance Corporation, will serve as role models for future startups seeking to enter the global market. The technological capabilities showcased at 4YFN have increased international trust and expectations for Korea. Continued success in emerging technology markets will position Korea as an innovation hub, extending beyond its current status as an IT powerhouse.
