On Saturday, March 4, 2026, Kuwait International Airport experienced bombings targeting both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, resulting in the closure of Kuwaiti airspace. According to Pablo Plaza, who has lived in Kuwait for 12 years, six of his relatives are currently stuck in the country due to these disruptions.

Plaza expressed frustration with the limited support from the Spanish embassy, stating they received an email advising patience and awaiting further news. He reported that the Spanish central government currently has no evacuation plan in place. The suggested alternative – driving to Saudi Arabia and flying from Jeddah or Riyadh – presents significant challenges, including obtaining visas and a lengthy journey of 800-1,500 kilometers.
