The General Staff of the Ukrainian Army affirmed today that Russia is preparing a new forced mobilization of between 400,000 and 700,000 new recruitsamong them some 40,000 Chechens, given the “catastrophic” casualties that the Russian Army is suffering in Ukraine.
“Due to the catastrophic losses of the occupants, a massive forced mobilization“says the kyiv General Staff in its daily military report this Monday.
The note adds that the mobilization will take place both in Russia and in the territories occupied by Russia in Ukraine.
The 40,000 Chechens who would also be recruited would be employed, according to the source, as “barrier units”which are deployed behind the troops and have the mission of shooting those who do not follow orders to charge against the enemy.
“At the same time, the planned number of mobilized people among the populations of Moscow and Saint Petersburg remains minimal once again,” says the Ukrainian General Staff, which explains that the new mobilization would mainly target Russian regions further away from the centers of can.
