Ravens Defensive Line Facing Injury Concerns Ahead of Broncos Clash

Baltimore Ravens fans are nervously awaiting Sunday’s game against the Denver Broncos. The team is facing harsh realities heading into the matchup, with several key defensive players battling various injuries.

Mounting Injuries on the Defensive Line

The Ravens’ defensive line is particularly thin heading into this weekend. The only defensive lineman currently healthy and active is Nnamdi Madubuike. Brent Urban (concussion) has missed the entire week of practice. Travis Jones (ankle) and Broderick Washington (knee) returned to practice on Friday but their availability remains uncertain.

Potential Call-Ups From the Practice Squad

If the Ravens need additional depth on the defensive line, they have several options on their practice squad. Recently re-signed nose tackle Josh Tupou, defensive end Chris Wormley, undrafted rookie C.J. Ravenell, and defensive end Adedayo Odeleye could all be called up to fill the gaps.

Defensive Coordinator Zach Orr Expresses Confidence

Defensive Coordinator Zach Orr isn’t too worried about the injuries though.

> “Obviously we got some guys that are banged up. We’ll see if they make it to the game Sunday,” Orr said Thursday.

> “Obviously, those guys are very important players for us, but the guys we have behind them, I’m excited about – they’ve been getting some good work in practice. Here in Baltimore, the interior D-Line is something we take seriously, and we always have a contingency plan for that, and I don’t think that’s going [to] really change the way we call [plays].”

Broncos’ Rushing Threat

The Ravens will need a strong defensive line performance this Sunday as the Broncos have a formidable rushing attack led by Javonte Williams and rookie quarterback Russell Wilson. The Broncos currently rank 14th in the league, averaging 121.4 yards per game on the ground.

Injury Update for Friday

As of Friday’s practice, Brent Urban and cornerback Jalyn Armour-Davis are the only Ravens who did not participate.
