Lao Cai Province Celebrates International Women’s Day with Finance Department and Journalists’ Events

Lao Cai Province marked International Women’s Day on March 8th, 2026, with commemorative events hosted by the provincial Department of Finance and the Women Journalists Club. These gatherings recognized the contributions of women to the province’s socio-economic development and celebrated their achievements.

Department of Finance Commemorative Gathering

On March 5th, 2026, the Department of Finance of Lao Cai province held a gathering and exchange event to celebrate International Women’s Day. The event was attended by Do Duc Minh, Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the Department of Finance, along with members of the Party Committee and the Department’s Board of Directors, and all female civil servants, employees, and workers of the Department.1

Director Do Duc Minh extended congratulations and acknowledged the significant contributions of the Department’s female staff to the successful completion of political tasks assigned by higher authorities. He expressed hope that these women would continue to be a core force in implementing political objectives, leading emulation movements, and contributing to the province’s socio-economic goals.1

The Party Committee and the Department’s management presented flowers and gifts to the female staff as a token of appreciation for their dedication and service.

Women Journalists Club Meeting

Likewise on March 5th, the Women Journalists Club of Lao Cai province convened a meeting to commemorate the 116th anniversary of International Women’s Day (March 8th, 1910 – March 8th, 2026) and the 1986th anniversary of the Hai Ba Trung Uprising.2

The meeting was attended by Le Truong Giang, Chairman of the Provincial Journalists Association and Director of the Lao Cai Provincial Newspaper and Radio and Television Station, along with Deputy Directors from the same organizations.2

The event highlighted the achievements of female journalists in the province over the past year, who successfully balanced their professional duties with family responsibilities. Several members of the Women Journalists Club received awards for their journalistic work, including a B Prize and an Encouragement Prize at the National Journalism Awards, as well as recognition at the National Television Festival.2

Delegates at the meeting also reviewed the historical significance of International Women’s Day and the Hai Ba Trung Uprising, and shared experiences to improve the quality of journalistic work.

Lao Cai Province’s Commitment to Female Cadres

Lao Cai province consistently demonstrates its commitment to the development of female cadres through various programs and policies. The Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs emphasizes the importance of raising awareness regarding gender equality and supporting the advancement of women in leadership roles.3

Initiatives include communication campaigns during International Women’s Day (March 8th) and Vietnamese Women’s Day (October 20th), as well as training courses to enhance the professional skills and political understanding of female cadres and civil servants.3

These efforts aim to build a strong and capable workforce of female leaders who can contribute to the province’s continued socio-economic progress.
