Little League world series 2025: Updates and Schedule

The 2025 Little League World Series is underway. Four teams are battling for a championship in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, on Thursday. A new champion will be crowned this year,as last year’s winner,Lake Mary,Florida,didn’t advance past the regional round.

Thursday’s LLWS schedule

• Santa Cruz Aruba vs. Barquisimeto Venezuela, 3 p.m ET, ESPN
  Winner advances to International championship game

• South Carolina vs. Nevada, 7 p.m. ET, ESPN
  Winner advances to U.S. championship game

Little League World series Format

The 2025 Little league World Series features 20 teams: 10 from the United States and 10 international clubs. They’ll compete in a modified double-elimination tournament. Play began on August 13th, with winners moving to the winners’ bracket.

Starting August 16th, teams that lost their first games will compete to stay in the tournament.

Connecticut defeated Nevada on Wednesday to secure a spot in the U.S. championship game. Nevada still has a chance to reach the U.S. title game if they beat South Carolina. South Carolina rallied from a five-run deficit to defeat South Dakota in extra innings on Wednesday night.

Chinese Taipei earned a spot in the international championship game with a win over venezuela, and aruba advanced after defeating Japan.
