Under the supervision of the Athletic Director, the Head golf Coach will perform adn assist with a wide variety of coaching and administrative duties to achieve the goals of the men’s and women’s golf programs, the athletic department, and the College.
Essential Functions:
- Develop a vision and culture fostering learning outcomes and life-long values.
- Recruit student-athletes, utilizing all established and contemporary methods within NCAA guidelines, who align with Marietta College’s admissions profile and enrollment goals.
- Research,understand,and comply with governing body bylaws for Marietta College,NCAA Division III,and the OAC.
- Schedule and manage practices and matches.
- Plan and execute specific roster goals and team membership procedures.
- Create,approve,and oversee training cycles for individual and group workouts.
- Manage the program budget, including operating and restricted accounts.
- Schedule facility use and collaborate on resolving facility overlap.
- Manage equipment and storage spaces effectively.
- Serve as a professional role model for assistant coaches and athletes, fostering a cooperative work environment for all College constituents.
- Monitor student-athletes’ academic progress and encourage the use of campus resources.
- Fundraise through methods agreed upon with the governance.
- Attend regularly scheduled staff meetings.
- Serve the campus community through committee appointments, recruitment functions, and events supporting College traditions.
- Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director and Physical Education Department Chairperson, perhaps including game management, facility supervision, life-time fitness instruction, sports data, promotions, or marketing.
