French Company Hexagon Padel Set to Disrupt Padel Racket Market with Local Production

Clisson, France – A Loire-Atlantique based company, Hexagon Padel, is poised to become the first French manufacturer of padel rackets, challenging the dominance of Asian production in this rapidly growing sport. Founded in the summer of 2024 by Guillaume Giannuzzi, the company is preparing to launch its innovative and eco-friendly rackets, with commercialization expected in the coming weeks.

Addressing a Gap in the Market

Currently, approximately 99% of padel rackets are manufactured in Asia, primarily in China, and Pakistan. Guillaume Giannuzzi identified a significant opportunity to establish a “made in France” alternative, capitalizing on the increasing popularity of padel within the country. There are currently 850,000 padel players in France, with continued growth and infrastructure development driving demand.

Innovation and Sustainability

Hexagon Padel’s rackets stand out due to their innovative design and commitment to sustainability. A key feature is a patented replaceable head, allowing players to replace only the impact area of the racket, reducing waste and extending the product’s lifespan. The rackets are constructed using recycled carbon fibers sourced from the local aeronautical industry, further minimizing their environmental impact.

Engineering Expertise and Manufacturing Efficiency

Giannuzzi, an engineer by training with a background in industrial competitiveness consulting for companies like Thales and Schneider Electric, aims to compete with Asian manufacturers through faster production times. He believes his rackets can be produced in approximately 2 hours, compared to 3-4 hours in Asia, offsetting the higher labor costs in France.

Pricing and Production Goals

Hexagon Padel rackets are expected to be priced around €250, positioning them within the average market range of €80 to €450. The company currently has around 100 pre-orders with no advertising spend. The initial production goal is to manufacture 15 to 20 high-end rackets per day, with plans to hire operators within two years to scale up production.
