Malvinas Argentinas Strengthens Public Health Training with USAL Agreement
Malvinas Argentinas is bolstering its commitment to public health by formalizing a new agreement with the University of Salvador (USAL) to provide enhanced practical training opportunities for Speech Therapy students. The agreement, signed on Thursday, March 20, 2026, at the Municipal Palace, will allow students to gain valuable experience within the municipality’s health system.
Expanding Practical Training in Speech Therapy
The agreement focuses on providing non-remunerated educational training practices for students enrolled in the Bachelor of Speech Therapy program at USAL’s Faculty of Medicine. These practices will take place in various facilities within the Health System of Malvinas Argentinas, integrating academic learning with real-world professional development, scientific research, and practical application.
Building on a Strong Foundation of Medical Education
This collaboration builds upon the municipality’s existing dedication to medical training. In 2025, Malvinas Argentinas’ public health system hosted 334 resident doctors from 24 different specialties, providing them with training alongside experienced professionals. This initiative significantly expanded the capacity for care and responsiveness within the community.
Comprehensive Training Stages
The training program will cater to students from their first to fifth year of study. Stages will include observation, problem identification, comprehensive patient care – encompassing diagnosis, therapeutic planning, and follow-up – at varying levels of complexity.
A Regional Hub for Public Health
The agreement aims to strengthen the connection between health and education, fostering the development of highly skilled professionals and increasing access to public health services. Malvinas Argentinas currently serves not only its own residents but also approximately 20% of patients from neighboring districts and other areas of the Province of Buenos Aires, solidifying its position as a key public health reference point in the region.
