Police Arrest Suspect After Standoff at Fullerton Smoke Shop
Fullerton Police Department officers arrested a 41-year-old San Francisco man on Sunday following a multi-hour standoff at a smoke shop in Orange County.

The incident began around 10:30 a.m. on Sunday when the Fullerton Police Department (FPD) received reports of a man acting erratically inside the business. According to the Fullerton Police Department, a store employee managed to escape the premises and sought assistance at a neighboring business, K’s Market. The employee reported that the suspect was armed with a knife.
As the situation progressed, the suspect remained inside, where he began vandalizing the interior of the shop. Sergeant Billy Phu of the FPD stated to KTLA that authorities believed the suspect had access to multiple weapons beyond the knife, including an axe. To ensure public safety, law enforcement officers established a perimeter and ordered the evacuation of nearby businesses.
Arrest and Charges
The Fullerton Police Department coordinated with a North Orange County SWAT team to resolve the barricade. Throughout the afternoon, officers observed the suspect through the shop’s windows, where he was seen brandishing a large knife and using aerosol spray to vandalize the property.
The standoff concluded at approximately 3:45 p.m. when members of the SWAT team entered the store and took Black into custody. Following his arrest, the suspect was transported to a local hospital to receive treatment for self-inflicted injuries. Officials confirmed that Black faces multiple charges, including felony vandalism and arson.
