Rockslides in Norway
Large rockslides are a significant natural hazard in Norway. The 1934 Tafjord disaster, where a rock and scree mass of 2-3 million cubic meters fell into a fjord, generated a tsunami reaching 62 meters in height, destroying villages and killing 41 people, serves as a stark reminder of the potential devastation these events can cause.
