Serious Hit-and-Run on Lower Rathmines Road in Dublin

A man in his 40s has been critically injured following a hit-and-run incident on Lower Rathmines Road in Dublin on Sunday night. Gardaí (Irish police) received a call shortly after 8:45 pm reporting a collision between a car and a pedestrian.

The driver of the car involved in the incident failed to remain at the scene. The pedestrian, an adult male in his 40s, was transported by ambulance to St James’s Hospital. Gardaí have confirmed that his injuries are considered serious.

The scene of the collision has been preserved for investigation and traffic diversions are currently in place.

Gardaí Appeal for Witnesses

Gardaí are urgently appealing for any witnesses to the incident to come forward. They are particularly interested in speaking with anyone with camera footage, including motorists who may have dash-cam footage, from the Lower Rathmines Road area around the time of the collision.
