# Marmozets Return With New Single ‘A kiss From A Mother’ and Announce First Shows Since 2018

Marmozets have returned with a new single called ‘A Kiss From A Mother’, marking their first release and live shows since 2018.

The single is the first new music from the Yorkshire band in seven years, following a hiatus after the release of their albums ‘The Weird And Marvelous Marmozets’ (2014) and ‘Knowing what You Know Now’ (2018).

Returning to the studio after singer Becca and Jack Bottomley got married and started a family, the band reunited with guitarists Sam Macintyre and drummer Josh Macintyre. They also collaborated with producers andy Hawkins and Jonathan Gilmore, known for their work with Biffy Clyro and Nothing But Thieves.

‘A Kiss From A Mother’ reignites Marmozets’ signature ferocious sound, delivering charismatic vocals and gothy garage-inspired guitar riffs.

Time to feel alive,” Becca Bottomley powerfully sings as the band launches into the chorus. “Act on what you hear/ Not in one ear and out the other/ nothing two-faced or fickle here/ A kiss from a mother.”

“The message of the song is to make sure you listen, rather than just shoot straight back,” Bottomley explained. “Probably everyone can relate to the idea of not letting some advice go in one ear and out the other, let it actually immerse in you. As for my voice, that’s just my spirit coming out! I’m not playing a character; I’m giving it all that I’ve got.”

Alongside the new single, Marmozets have announced their first headline shows since 2018. The tour begins in Huddersfield on December 1st, with further dates in Cardiff, Brighton, and Coventry later in the month.

The band will continue their headline run into the new year, starting with a show at King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut in Glasgow on January 20th, 2026.

Additional dates in january include shows in Manchester,Leeds, birmingham,Nottingham,Bristol, and more, culminating in a gig at Dingwalls in London on January 31st.Tickets go on sale this Friday (November 7th) at 9am.
