Reality TV Star’s Farm Defaults on $1.3 Million Loan
Steven A. McBee, known for his appearance on the reality television show “The Island Life,” is facing financial difficulties with his farm. His farm has defaulted on a $1.3 million loan with Rabo Agrifinance, according to court documents filed in Arkansas.
McBee and his wife, Carrie, took out the loan in 2018 to purchase the 960-acre farm in carlisle, Arkansas. The farm, called McBee Farms, is featured on “The island Life,” which follows the McBee family as they navigate life on their farm.
Rabo Agrifinance filed a lawsuit in December 2023 seeking to foreclose on the property. Court records show that McBee Farms owes $1,308,888.79 plus interest and legal fees. The lender claims McBee failed to make payments as agreed.
This isn’t the frist time McBee has faced financial challenges. In 2022,he faced a lawsuit from a different lender over unpaid loans. He also had a tax lien filed against him for unpaid federal taxes.
McBee has publicly addressed the situation on social media, stating that the farm faced challenges due to weather and market conditions. He expressed hope for a resolution and continued operation of the farm. However, the foreclosure lawsuit casts doubt on the farm’s future.
The case is ongoing in the Carlisle County Circuit Court. A hearing date has not yet been set.
