Mediaset Spain has presented its first economic results on Tuesday after its integration into its parent company Media For Europa (MFE) with a 4.3% drop in revenue to 397 million euros between January and June.
The company is in full restructuring of its grid after the end of Save me on Telecinco and the passage of Ana Rosa Quintana in the afternoons with the aim of regaining the favor of the audience. Precisely this same Tuesday it was confirmed that the chain marked its historical monthly minimum in July with a 9.3% share of the screen, thus advanced not only by Antenna 3 (with 12.9%), but because the 1which scored 9.9%.
The drop in audiences and a “still quite difficult market environment” have also made themselves felt in the media group advertising revenue, which have fallen by 3.2% to 373.2 million euros. For its part, the operating result (Ebit) plummeted 17.2% to 81.7 million euros.
At the group level, the company, which in addition to the businesses of Mediaset Italy and Spain has 26.6% in the German ProSiebenhas kept its income practically stable with €1,369.6 million invoiced (-1.3%) and ato net profit improvement up to 87.1 million euros, compared to 84.6 million euros in the first half of the previous year.
Facing the second half of the year, the company considers the macroeconomic evolution in Europe “uncertain”, although it considers that Spain and Italy are “better situated” than the other main countries. However, at the advertising level, the group has emphasized the “great volatility and low visibility at the end of the year”, although it expects to improve its figures in the last quarter compared to the previous year, marked by the World Cup in Qatar .
