Auburn MenS Golf Leads at The Clerico Following Strong First Day at Southern Hills
Tulsa, Oklahoma – The No. 16 Auburn men’s golf team concluded the first 36 holes of The Clerico tournament at the prestigious Southern Hills Country Club with a narrow one-stroke lead. The Tigers demonstrated consistent play, carding rounds of even-par 280 and 3-under 277 for a tournament total of 3-under par 557. This positions them just ahead of No. 17 Oklahoma State, who finished the day at 2-under par.
Auburn’s impressive performance is underscored by the fact that four of their five players currently rank within the top 10 individual standings. Leading the charge is junior Josiah Gilbert, who surged into second place with a remarkable 6-under 64 in the afternoon round.
