Mick Jagger Endorses Kamala Harris Ahead of 2024 Election

Just days before Election Day, legendary musician Mick Jagger has thrown his weight behind Vice President Kamala Harris, endorsing her for president. The 81-year-old frontman of The Rolling Stones revealed his support in a Monday Instagram post featuring photos of six of his eight children.

Acompanying the picture, Jagger simply wrote, “DON’T FORGET TO VOTE -JAGGER KIDS ARE VOTING FOR KAMALA.” While Jagger is English and ineligible to vote himself, several of his children are American citizens and thus eligible to participate in the election.

Jagger’s Political Statements

Jagger’s endorsement follows his vocal engagement with US politics, particularly during the 2024 election cycle. In June, during a Rolling Stones concert in Atlanta, he seemingly referenced the January 2, 2021 phone call between Donald Trump and Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger where Trump pressured Raffensperger to “find” him enough votes to overturn his election loss. As he introduced the fan choice song “Sweet Virginia”, Jagger joked that the band had wanted to play “Wild Horses” but “needed 11,000 more votes” adding, “More important vote coming in November.”

Other Celebrities Backing Harris

Jagger joins a growing list of celebrities who publicly endorsed Harris. Actor Harrison Ford endorsed Harris on Saturday, emphasizing the importance of protecting democratic institutions. “I’m Harrison Ford. I’ve got one vote, same as anyone else, and I’m going to use it to move forward. I’m going to vote for Kamala Harris,” Ford said in a campaign video, directly criticizing Trump’s leadership style.

This comes on the heels of other prominent figures in Hollywood lending their support to Harris. Musical artists like Taylor Swift, Eminem, Beyoncé, Bad Bunny, Ricky Martin, and Bruce Springsteen have all voiced their endorsements. Actors Leonardo DiCaprio, George Clooney, Matt Damon, Jon Hamm, Don Cheadle, and Mark Hamill also joined the list.
