Taste of the Caribbean Festival Returns to Montreal with ‘Soccer Fiesta’

Montreal’s Old Port will once again come alive with the vibrant sounds, flavors, and energy of the Caribbean from July 9-12, 2026, as the Taste of the Caribbean Festival (TOTC) celebrates its 27th edition. This year’s festival introduces a new ‘Soccer Fiesta’ theme, blending Caribbean culture with the global excitement surrounding the FIFA World Cup.

A Three-Year Partnership with Tanguay

The festival’s return is marked by a landmark three-year partnership with Tanguay, who will serve as the Official Collaborator and presenting partner of the newly launched ‘Tanguay Soccer Zone.’ This dynamic space will celebrate the energy of the FIFA World Cup through a Caribbean lens.

Ali Gerba Named Official Ambassador

Former Canadian international soccer player and World Cup qualifier, Ali Gerba, has been named the Official Ambassador for this year’s festival. Through his Complete Striker program, Gerba will host celebrity soccer matches, youth skills clinics, and interactive 3-on-3 tournaments, bringing a high level of soccer engagement to families and fans. He stated, “Soccer transformed my life… Serving as ambassador for the Tanguay Soccer Zone is a true honour. It’s an opportunity to unite young people across cultures, celebrate our shared identity, and indicate the next generation that sport can be a powerful springboard — not just on the field, but in life.”

Expanded Festival Grounds and Free Admission

Following over 210,000 attendees in 2025, the festival grounds have expanded by 20% to accommodate the new 3-on-3 soccer rink and enhanced activities, making TOTC the largest cultural event at the Old Port of Montreal this summer. Admission to the festival remains free daily from 12 PM to 11 PM.

  • Latin Stage: More than 25 Caribbean-Latin performances in the Latin Fuzion Zone, a co-production with JPM Events.
