Morocco is experiencing unstable weather conditions, with cooler temperatures expected across several regions, including the possibility of snowfall in the Atlas Mountains. The Directorate General of Meteorology has issued forecasts indicating varied conditions throughout the country.
Current Weather Overview
As of Saturday, March 14, 2026, fairly cool weather prevails in several regions of Morocco, particularly in the reliefs and eastern areas. The Atlas Mountains and their eastern slopes, along with the eastern highlands and the Rif region, will remain quite cold.
Regional Forecasts
- Northern Regions: Scattered light rain is forecast over the Rif, the Middle Atlas and the northern Oriental region. Intermittent floods are possible in Tangier, Loukkos, and the northern Atlantic plains.
- Southern Regions: The far south of the Kingdom will experience partly cloudy skies.
- Wind Conditions: Fairly strong gusts of wind are expected over the Mediterranean, the Oriental, the central coasts, and the Saharan provinces, potentially accompanied by local dust blowing phenomena.
Temperature Expectations
Minimum temperatures are expected to range between -6 and -3 degrees Celsius in the Atlas Mountains, between 2 and 8 degrees Celsius in the Rif and High Plateaus, and between 15 and 17 degrees Celsius locally in the Saharan provinces. Other areas of the country will see temperatures between 8 and 13 degrees Celsius.
Daytime temperatures will increase in the South-East and far south, while a drop is anticipated in other regions.

The sea state will be little to turbulent in the Mediterranean, on the Strait of Gibraltar, and along the Atlantic coast.

Kenitra saw 13 millimeters, while Salé and Essaouira (Port) each received 12 millimeters [2].
