Mountain Dew Baja Blast Named Official Soft Drink of MLB
As Spring Training begins, Mountain Dew Baja Blast has secured the title of Official Soft Drink of Major League Baseball (MLB) for the 2026 season, strengthening PepsiCo’s presence in sports marketing.
A Home Run Partnership
The partnership will see prominent branding of Baja Blast throughout MLB stadiums across the United States and Canada. PepsiCo will activate the sponsorship through a season-long promotion called “Get a Baja for a Blast,” which ties product rewards to home runs hit during games. Details of the program will be available at BajaBlastHomeRuns.com.
PepsiCo’s Continued Commitment to Baseball
This move deepens PepsiCo’s long-standing relationship with MLB. Gatorade, also a PepsiCo brand, has been the Official Sports Drink of MLB since 1990 and will continue in that role for the 2026 season. Together, both brands will participate in the Opening Bell ceremony at the Nasdaq MarketSite in Times Square to commemorate the start of the season.
MLB’s Rising Popularity and New Broadcast Deals
MLB’s decision to partner with Baja Blast comes as the league experiences increased viewership, with “double-digit” growth in key demographics like those aged 17 and under and 18-34 during the 2025 campaign.
The 2026 MLB season will also mark the first year of a new three-year media rights cycle, featuring broadcast packages with Disney’s ESPN, Comcast’s NBCUniversal, Fox, Warner Bros. Discovery’s TBS, and streaming giant Netflix.
- ESPN will broadcast 30 nationally distributed games, including key events like the Memorial Day game and the Little League Classic.
- NBCUniversal will take over the Sunday Night Baseball slot, along with the Sunday Leadoff game and all four Wild Card playoff games.
- Netflix will stream a singular opening night game each year, as well as the Home Run Derby and the MLB at Field of Dreams game.
Season Dates
The 2026 MLB season is scheduled to start on March 25, with the regular season concluding on September 27. The postseason playoffs and World Series will run through October 31.
